Through the eyes of a photographer
As you have probably noticed, our Nonpareil blog wouldn’t be the same without all those pictures, which is why photography is so important to us.
Magnum Photos, the picture agency that has some of the most reputable photo journalists among its members, is currently running an exhibition to show the world through the eyes of a photographer. ‘Magnum Contact Sheets’ is a display of 30 contact sheets, some of which are shown alongside their final images, accompanying a book of the same name.
The contact sheets are direct copies of film rolls and sequences illustrating the moments right before and after some of the most famous images in history were taken. This exhibition is a unique opportunity to understand the journey of a photographer’s mind, from their personal experience to a range of pictures and eventually to a final photograph that describes their feelings more than any other.
The exhibition will be held at the Magnum Print Room off Old Street in London until January 27, 2012.
