Q & A :: Natalie Sharp
Make-up artist Natalie took the time to answer our questions today.
T d l M :: What do you enjoy most about being a make-up artist?
Natalie :: The constant change of it, really. The fact that every time I do a job it’s completely different from my last job. It keeps me thinking about things that I wouldn’t necessarily think about myself. My style kind of develops from all these different jobs that I do.
T d l M :: How did you become part of the T d l M ‘Nonpareil’ team?
Natalie :: I've worked with Chris for about six seasons. Basically I've known him for ages, he's a very old friend and I just enjoy working with him. I love his clothes, his approach to fashion, how he does things. He asked me to come and do the hair and make-up and I said yes.
T d l M :: What did you bring to Nonpareil?
Natalie :: Chris has been asking me what I thought of the collection, more or less since its inception. He invited me to look at the samples and I thought of a few little design tweeks that worked last season and that he might not have included this season. I also bring energy and a bit of whit. Noise! Lots of noise! He’s always asking me what I think of the way the collection is evolving, the little details. I’m able to see everything with a fresh eye. The make-up was very clean and simple. Chris wanted it to be just casual.
T d l M :: What did you gain from the Nonpareil experience?
Natalie :: I’ve met lovely interesting and creative people that I didn’t know before. I think every time you do a job you gain more and more experience of working with people and understanding people. For me, working here is a safe environment, because I know the place. It is work, but it doesn’t really feel like it, the energy is so positive. I also know Will, we’ve worked together in the past and we wok really well. I like seeing the collection come together, it seems to happen over night. It’s just amazing to see how Chris puts this all together.
